Through the usual water portal he arrived, a certain phantom familiarity coming to him upon seeing Phil's house. Even though he hadn't really been raised there...

Damn these viruses! he broke away from the first chain of thought. They mess with your head and body. If I ever find out who's causing these..!

As Darc looked around, he couldn't help but be conscious of the weight of his new assets. There was a simple red cloth bound around his chest. It was crude, but it covered, though it did little in the way of support; he could feel a jiggling bounce with every step. That same bounce hit him once again as he began to walk toward the door of Phil's home. The king stopped upon remembering his friend's condition, and figured that going in the front would be pointless.

Then what should he hear but the sounds of loud splashing. The beach...that makes more sense.

He turned and began down the path to the beach. Just as it was coming into view, he called out "Phil! Is that you?"

Oh yes, he had almost forgotten how much he hated the sound of his new voice too.

Although Darc was prepared to come across Phil in Dragon form, he didn't expect her to be quite so big. Upon seeing her, he stopped for a moment to comprehend her size before reminding himself that it's still Philomel St. James, and she probably felt awkward enough.

Nothing else was said until he reached her. "I guess we're both stuck in different bodies." There was a pause before he added. "I don't know if I'd rather be in your situation or not - stuck as a Dragon that is. Either way I'd probably have to hide..."

Darc's voice trailed off as he looked down at himself, still uncomfortable and very confused.

"I suspect I'd prefer this," she murmured softly--softly for a dragon, anyway--curling down into the sand to bring her head closer to him...her? Her scales chimed together as she moved. It was hard to be surreptitious as she studied him when her eye was as a big as a plate, but she tried not to be too obvious about it. "At least I am still a female, this way.

"I suppose the dragons of your world can't Mime?"

It had been a guess that Phil would end up looking him over, so it wasn't much of a surprise when she did. Still, Darc did feel a little awkward no matter what, given how his form had changed. Out of habit in such situations, he touched the birthmark on his right arm; otherwise he stood in complete confidence while Phil gave him a one-over.

Darc shook his head at the following question. "I don't even know what that means."

Examination complete, Philomel lay her head down, her long neck coiling in a half circle around him as she did. She blinked, rustling her wings. "It's a defense mechanism, as far as we've been able to discern," she explained, and concentrated--she could assume the Mime voluntarily now, though it still happened involuntarily too.

Her fringes and her wings started to fade first, a quickly creeping invisibility that rendered her invisible in the course of a few minutes...except for the eye facing him, a disembodied bronze orb that disappeared when she blinked. "The Mime," she said simply, sounding, perhaps, just a little smug.

The entire time, Darc looked on in curious shock. "Dragons in my world can't do anything like that," he began. "At least, not that I know. Dragons don't show themselves very often, so maybe they can after all."

He held up his left hand - the larger, scale-covered hand - and wiggled his fingers a bit. "My father's clan is descended from Dragons. If they really can do something like that Mime thing, then maybe the Drakyr could too," said Darc, contemplating the idea but not really believing it. As the king spoke, he imagined the claws and tips of his fingers becoming see-through in his mind's eye.

"We suspect this is responsible, in part, for their periodic disappearances on my world," she murmured, shifting slightly. Her scales chimed musically as they clinked together, and the color returned to her--she didn't really have the control yet to assume the Mime for a long period of time, particularly not if she was moving. It was documented that natural dragons could, of course, so long as they didn't move too quickly, but she was far from a natural dragon.

"It's certainly possible!" she agreed. "You would know better than I the possibility of the capability existing, and being genetic if it does."

"Hm. If Tatjana ever shows up at the community, maybe she would know. But I've never heard of Dragons doing that at all. I'll look into it when I get home."

Darc paused then, thinking about another thing he had been curious about; something Jack Frost had mentioned about their condition. "There's something I want to find out about before I look into that. Seeing as you're really a girl, you probably know more about this sort of thing. What's a bra? Jack said it's supposed to help with..."

He trailed off then, glancing down at his newly developed bust.

If a dragon could look embarrassed by a question like that, Philomel did now, her head reading up off the sand and a musical jingle traveling the long length of her body. "Er," she said, looking down at him.

Then she realized how patently ridiculous it was to be embarrassed in a situation like this. After all, it wasn't his fault he was stuck that way, and given the, ah, magnitude of his assets, it would be vital information. Certainly she could be professional about helping about a friend. "It's, ah, an article of clothing designed for...support. Sort of two cups and a band, and shoulder straps, generally."

As Philomel spoke, the Deimos king turned his attention between her and his chest. Once she finished, he cupped his breasts curiously. "So a bra is something that holds them up. Do you have one I could borrow? Anything to keep these damn things out of the way..."

He growled inwardly. "I can't wait for this virus to wear off. Yours too. It's not right for us to be stuck like this!"

"There are some in my room in the house," she said, titling her head and swaying it slightly, getting a binocular look at him. "I'm afraid that mine might be too...small, though one of Marta's may fit..." She trailed off, considering the dilemma, then gave her head a little shake.

"I must admit, I am starting to get tired of this," she said, draconic voice about as soft as she could make it. "I didn't mind so much before, when we had so much to learn, but it's been so long..."

((Sorry about the late response!))

"Too small? Are mine too big or something?" Darc tried to size them up visually. He guessed they were about as big as Camellia's. Then again, he never saw Camellia wearing a bra.

"If I knew how to undo your virus, I would..." he said to her sadly. "This doesn't seem like something Coleopt Froth or any magic I know can fix..."

"Not too big," she said slowly, tail swishing through the sand, "merely...larger than mine were." Her head dipped low, sand flying in a cloud as she exhaled. "I...don't mind it, honestly. It's simply getting old, that's all." Her head cocked, eye focusing on him. "I do appreciate the thought, though."

He made a quiet huff beneath his breath and let go of his chest. "This virus won't last long, at least I hope not. There's no point in borrowing someone else's stuff for it. I guess this cloth will have to hold out until then."

"Well, once I turn back to normal, I'll ask the community if anyone can help you!" exclaimed Darc with determination.

"We could ask Marta to give you an elastic bandage," she suggested. "I know she's got some, and I've used them as makeshift brassieres before. I'm sure that would suffice while you're effected."

If she could have smiled, she would have. "I think I would like that, Darc, thank you."

"An...elastic bandage?" asked Darc thoughtfully. "Does it really make that much difference? They get in the way, but I don't see how holding them up will stop that."

He nodded. "Then I'll do it. I won't go back on my word! You'll be back to normal soon."
