[RL - Jack Frost is about!]

True to his word, Darc stood at the top of the stairs that lead into town. The Balar Deimos on guard stayed well out of the way of his king's business. Otherwise, there was nothing out of the ordinary going in in Rueloon that day. So far, at least.

To windows he'll creep, and while we're asleep

Darc grasped his cocoa chino in his left hand, taking a long sip of it before responding. Sweet drinks weren't very common amongst the Deimos (or sweet anything for that matter); as sensitive as he was to the sensation, he found the cocoa chinos were pleasant without overdoing it. "It was something about your job - you want to give it up."

For a moment he paused, feeling the heat from the mug against his palm. "Do you still want to?"

Frost placed his mug down and tapped his fingers lightly against it. Did he really? He look at himself in the window reflection, sideways. He remembered what he looked like thawed but what would he look like if he wasn't Jack Frost at all? Then again, he'd probably be nothing then a spirit you could not seen till he had a host like Kris did... And the only reason for this was because of all the pressure lately of what happened last year.
His eyes slide down focused on the mug, "I don't know... I think prehaps maybe the job would be less stressful..." His voice trailed that's what he wanted to explain to Darc, "I didn't tell you how the works did I?" His icy eyes meeting his.

Across the grass he'll merrily pass ~<3

"No," replied the king with a shake of his head. "That's what we're meeting here to discuss, isn't it?" His interest was really piquing now that it seemed they were getting down to business.

"So how do you pass your job on to someone else?"

And change all its greenness to white ~

Frost took a sipped and sighed, "Well... That's right we be. After all you can't say everything over the internet."

There was a pause, "Well, I figure it be the same way with Claus, ya know... I would just havet to fall from a high place and in landing I'd disappear and someone else would put on my clothes." As he finished Jack thought about that, did he really want a hobo wearing his clothes and turning into him?

Then home he will go,

"It sounds like you would have to die."

The idea of his friend dying caused him to become a little downcast. With his parents dead and his brother practically estranged, friends were all Darc had.

"So all it takes is a wardrobe change," he stated as a sort of confirmation, taking a thoughtful sip of his chino.

With his head down, Darc watched his drink ripple in its cup. He was quite as everything that had been said weighed down upon him. Looking up slowly he simply said to Jack, "Don't."

And laugh, "Ho ! ho ! ho!" ~

"Well, in a sense I suppose." Taking another sip of chino. "But my spirit will live on."

The elf shrugged, "Yeah, basically." His icy eyes trying to find Darcs.

Jack's neck stretched in curiosity, "Why?"

What fun I have had in the night. - Uh, should we pick another for the next comments? XD

"Because then you'd be gone, right?" replied Darc matter-of-factly. "I don't care if your spirit 'lives on' - it's still someone else who's wearing your clothes and using your powers. Someone else using your name. It wouldn't be you."

"Well..." Jack began, "I wouldn't be gone gone. I'd say... Probably, just human..." He couldn't answer for sure.

Jack's ears dropped, "So, what are you saying?.. You don't like it do you?"

The response came swiftly; his tone was sharp, but not angry. "What's there to like? I'd be losing a friend. Even if you did become a human or whatever, it wouldn't be the same."

"Why not?" Jack cocked his head yet again. Would Darc rather Jack be all cold?

"Because you just...I don't know, you just wouldn't be you!"

Darc "tsked" softly to himself, irritated at his awkwardness on the matter. "You're my friend the way you are now. If I'm wrong about all this then tell me, but that's the way I see it."

He wouldn't be him. Jack tried to take a moment to understand that. He did not see any difference if he was an elf, human or Santa.

..."No, prehaps you're not." He wasn't sure himself.

"But" Jack piped up, "We'd still be friends even if I wasn't like this wouldn't we?"
